I live in an old Victorian house within walking distance of the historic Carnegie library where I work as a librarian. I live with my husband and guinea pigs, as well as many, many books.
I love writing middle grade because I treasure the impact my favorite books had on me as a child. Reading stories by Zilpha Keatley Snyder, Diana Wynne Jones, Cynthia Voigt, and Robin McKinley broadened my horizons. Most importantly, their books taught me what good friendships and relationships looked like, and illustrated qualities to look for in the people I met. I owe several lifelong friendships to my childhood favorite books!
My family ran the Central Virginia Wildlife Rehabilitation Center for four years of my childhood. I’m currently working on a middle grade contemporary novel (with a twist) inspired by my experiences. If you are an agent or editor who may be interested in this project, please contact me.
